Who We Are
We are a coalition of city networks (United Cities and Local Governments and Mayors Migration Council) and UN Agencies (International Organization for Migration and UN Refugee Agency).
Together, we elevate the voice of local governments in migration governance and forced displacement protection.
It is at the local level that we see pragmatic, principled, and people-centred approaches that meet and exceed global goals, such as the UN Migration Compact, the UN Refugee Compact, and the 2030 Agenda.
To spotlight this political leadership, we established a Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees, the official pathway for local governments to pledge action and to be recognised for localising global goals.
What We Do
We bring the voice of local governments to state-led fora on migration and forced displacement, such as the Global Forum for Migration and Development, and the UN Migration and Refugee Compacts.
We capture local political commitment to localise the Migration and Refugee Compacts through the Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees.
We offer opportunities for peer learning and capacity building and bring together local governments that joined the Call to Local Action in a Community of Practice.

Partnerships (forthcoming)
We engage with a variety of organisations with the ultimate aim to further unlock new partnerships and funding opportunities with and for local governments. This work is forthcoming.
