Overview

The main challenge to be solved by this project is to keep IDP pupils in school. The town of Dédougou is the capital of the commune of the same name. The commune is the capital of the Boucle du Mouhoun region. It has 37 administrative villages and seven districts, with a population of 124,000. Ten villages in the town of Dédougou were attacked by lawless men (terrorists) and, as a result, pupils stayed away from schools, the source of knowledge transmission.

To remedy this situation, pupils from these villages were moved to the town of Dédougou to continue their education.

Expected Impact

  1. The IDP students were able to continue their education. The challenges are psychological, material and financial. They have been overcome by a combination of endogenous efforts.

  2. The integration of emergency plans into local development policies could be improved.
