Overview

To enhance the access of refugees and asylum seekers to opportunities for self-reliance, increase their sense of belonging, and facilitate their effective integration, the Municipality of Larissa commits to establishing a Center for the Integration of Migrants and Refugees.

The Center for Integration of Migrants and Refugees (CIMP) will provide comprehensive support to refugees and strengthen partnerships and collaboration among different actors to advance durable solutions for refugees. The ultimate goal of the CIMP will be to empower refugees to become self-reliant and contribute to their host communities.

The Center would aim to reach approximately 700 refugees and asylum seekers staying at the Site of Koutsochero and in the city of Larissa. The Centre will provide asylum seekers and refugees with individual or group counseling by lawyers on legal matters. It will also offer them support from social workers for education, health care, social security, tax, counseling on employment issues by employability and livelihood experts, as well as psychological support by psychologists in their own language.
